Hygiene and Health: Conures are not hard to care for. They do not often get sick.
Give yours birds Clean, fresh, and chlorine-free water and change it daily.
Behavior: Conures are generally very friendly birds. They need lots of distractions, live contact, attention, etc in order to be happy though. If they are left alone in an empty room all of the time they will not be good pets and very unhappy. They can be taught to talk and many tricks so its worth giving a couple of minutes to talk to them.
Diet: Its recommended to feed your Conure a pellet diet at 60% to 70%. Its also a good idea to offer fortified seeds but only in small moderation because they do have high quantities of fat. There is also plenty of different food you can offer your conures as a supplement such as carrots, broccoli, peas, corn, apples, oranges, grapes and watermelons. The will especially like you if you offer nuts to them because like in their natural environment they love to break the shells.
Its very important that you never feed them fruit seeds, avocados, chocolate, alcohol, caffeine, lettuce, cabbage and parsley. They could lead to major medical issues.
Habitat: Conures are fine in regular household temperatures just make sure that the climate doesn't raise and drop like crazy. A cage that is 24" by 24" by 30". Like all animals the bigger the better, but the minimum size should be good. Its also recommended that they have a perch because its good for exercise.
Additional Info: Conures originate from South America. They are very tropical looking birds and are very enjoyable to watch.
